As anticipated, The Expendables 4 failed to generate substantial revenue during its opening weekend at the North American box office owing to disappointing global reviews. Even the word-of-mouth feedback wasn’t in its favor, and the ongoing strikes in Hollywood resulted in a lack of promotion. The film managed to make only $8.3 million, which is the lowest debut for the franchise and contributed to the lowest weekend score for the North American box office this year at $51.7 million. While it was expected to perform well in China, it has only earned $20.8 million so far. Despite having a star-studded cast including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, 50 Cent, Megan Fox, Dolph Lundgren and others, the movie is heading towards significant losses from its theatrical run.
